Landfills were receiving bad publicity after a closure/berm blew out from a local Tennessee landfill which spread ash, leachete and caused soil and well water contamination throughout several counties. As a result, the Pleasant Station Landfill mandated that containment liner be used on all their new landfill cells in an effort to prevent this from happening again.
